Anyone who signed the paper petition in November or December should not sign the petition again. Your previous signature is good and when you sign you are attesting that you did not sign twice.
If you signed an on-line "survey" last summer, that does not count! You need to sign the paper petition.
Since this is a legal petition, there is a requirement that signature gatherers be residents of Ramsey County; and all persons who sign the petition must currently be a registered voter living in Ramsey County. The address that is on your voter registration records should be your current address. If you have recently moved within the county but have not updated your voter registration with Ramsey County Elections, you may not be able to sign the petition. If you have not voted within the last four years, you may no longer be registered.
There were a few people who signed that were not registered or were registered at a different address. I will be contacting them individually to let them know that they need to register for their signature to count.
Please spread the word that we are gathering signatures - our volunteers will be out getting signatures over the weekend. We will post information on our website and on Facebook when we have confirmed locations.
If you have already signed, please pass on our messages to others. We would like to gather the 17,000 (14,875 plus 10-15% extra) signatures as quickly as possible.
